How the 3D arrow puzzle works

Every block carries an arrow on its sides, a dot on the face it points to and a ring on the face it points away from. Tap a block and it slides out of the shape in that direction, but only if no other block lies anywhere along that line. Otherwise it bumps into the block in its way, both flash red, and you lose a heart.

Spin the shape to look behind it: a block that seems free from one side may be blocked by one hidden at the back. The colour of a block also tells you its direction, so after a few levels you can read a shape at a glance.

Every shape can be cleared

Levels are built by peeling the shape apart one block at a time. Each block gets a direction in which it could leave at the moment it was peeled, so taking the blocks away in that order always works. Our solver checks every level before it is published, and as in every arrow puzzle here, removing a block never makes a level impossible.

Tips for 3D boards

  • Start with the outside: blocks on the surface that point outward are usually free.
  • Before you tap, spin the shape so you can see the whole line in front of a block.
  • Use the colours: all blocks of one colour point the same way.
  • On big shapes, peel one face at a time instead of jumping around.

15 shapes, from 8 to 125 blocks

Shapes include blocks, pyramids, a cross, staircases, rings and a ball. Level 1 is a gentle tutorial, level 2 is a full 4×4×4 shock, and the spike levels marked with a flame are 2, 10, 15. You get three hearts per level, and your progress is saved in this browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is Arrow Cube 3D an arrow cube game like tap away?
It is the same idea: tap blocks to send them flying in the direction of their arrow and clear the whole shape. The levels here are our own and free to play in your browser.
How do I rotate the shape?
Drag with one finger or the mouse to spin it. Pinch or scroll to zoom. A short tap without dragging moves a block.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. The 3D view runs in any modern mobile browser. Big shapes may load a second slower on older phones.
