Levels
How Arrow Match 3D works
Arrow Match 3D is a 3D arrow puzzle with a match tray. Every level is a stack of coloured blocks, and each block carries an arrow. Tap a block and it slides out of the stack in that direction, but only if no other block lies anywhere along that line. If one does, your block bumps into it and you lose a heart.
A block that gets out drops into the tray under the stack. The tray has seven slots. As soon as three blocks of one colour sit in it, they clear and make room. If the seventh slot fills without a match, the level is over, so the question is never only which block can move, but which one you want next.
Every stack can be cleared
Levels are built by peeling the stack apart one block at a time, so there is always an order in which every block can leave. The colours are then painted along that order so the tray never overflows if you follow it. Our solver checks every level before it is published. As in every arrow puzzle here, taking a block out never traps another one, but the tray can still fill up if you collect colours carelessly.
Tips for the match tray
- Finish a pair whenever you can: the third tile clears two slots at once.
- Before you start a new colour, spin the stack and check where its other two blocks are and whether they can get out soon.
- Count your free slots. With five tiles in the tray, only a block that completes a pair is safe.
- Stuck? A hint shows a block that still leads to a full clear from where you are, if there is one.
15 stacks, from 12 to 75 blocks
Stacks include blocks, staircases and rings, with up to 8 colours in play. Level 1 is a gentle tutorial, level 2 is a shock, and the spike levels marked with a flame are 2, 5, 10, 15. You get three hearts per level, and your progress is saved in this browser.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Arrow Match 3D a triple match game?
- It borrows the tray from triple match games: three tiles of one colour clear and a full tray loses. Which block you can take is decided by arrows, as in every puzzle on this site, so it is a planning puzzle rather than a search for hidden items.
- How is it different from Arrow Cube 3D?
- In Arrow Cube 3D the only question is whether a block is free. Here every free block also has a colour, and the seven slot tray punishes taking them in the wrong order. There is no undo, so think one or two moves ahead.
- Does it work on phones?
- Yes. The 3D view runs in any modern mobile browser. The biggest stacks may take a moment to load on older phones.
