Arrow Spin

Turn the whole board and let gravity do the rest. The arrow rolls towards whichever side is down, slides along the walls and bounces off them. Steer it out through the green gate and keep it away from every other gap.

How Arrow Spin works

Arrow Spin is an arrow maze puzzle you play with gravity. The arrow sits on a puck inside a walled maze on a turntable. You never touch the arrow: you turn the whole board, and the puck rolls towards whatever side is down, slides along the walls and bounces when it hits one. Its arrow always shows which way it is heading.

Hold a turn button or an arrow key and the turntable picks up speed like a heavy wheel; let go and it slows down. You can also grab the board and drag it round. The rim has a green exit gate and, from level 2 on, a few other gaps marked with a red cross. Roll out of the gate to win. Fall out of any other gap and you lose a heart, and the board turns upright with the arrow back at the start.

Every board has a way out

Every maze is carved so that each cell connects to every other one, and the route from the start to the gate is planned to a set length. Before a level is published, an autopilot plays it with the same physics as the game. It can only turn the board as fast as you can, and the level is thrown away unless it rolls out through the gate without a single fall. So no board needs a lucky bounce, only a steady hand.

Tips for Arrow Spin

  • Turn slowly near a red cross. A fast turn throws the arrow along the wall and straight out of the gap.
  • Short taps on a button nudge the board a few degrees. Use them to let the arrow creep round a corner.
  • Let the arrow settle before the next big turn: a moving arrow keeps rolling after the board stops.
  • Lost? A hint draws the way from where the arrow is now to the gate.

20 turntables, from 4×4 to 8×8

Level 1 is a gentle tutorial, level 2 is a shock, and the spike levels marked with a flame are 2, 10, 15, 20. The longest route runs through 19 cells. You get three hearts per level, the clock starts with your first turn, and your progress is saved in this browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is Arrow Spin a tilt maze?

It plays like one: you move the board, not the piece, and gravity does the rest. The difference is the turntable. Instead of tilting the maze, you turn it round, so down can be any direction.

How do I turn the board?

Hold the Turn left or Turn right button, hold the left or right arrow key, or put a finger or the mouse on the turntable and drag it round like a steering wheel.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Drag the turntable with one finger or hold the turn buttons. Phones that support it give a small buzz when the arrow hits a wall.
